MT6592 Umi X3 Review Specifications!

umi-x3-mtk6592Umi is generally considered synonymous with quality when talking about China brands. They were one of the first to come with Gorilla Glass and have been in the China phone game for several years.

In 2013 and 2014 there are a lot of up and comers to press the game. iNew and iOcean were two big players in the field who came with quality models with proper specs and pricing. It’s now up to Umi to pull something big off to stay ahead.

It appears that’s exactly what they have planned. Umi has announced the Umi X3 with MT6592 + LTE/4G. If the X3 comes out sooner rather than later, it may be the first MTK LTE mobile to market.

The Umi X3 MTK6592 + LTE has been reported to be manufactured with a one-piece metal frame, and be a super-slim 7.2mm. Though whether or not this is the truth, and whether or not it represents the measurement of true thickness is another story. We’ve already seen the likes of Doogee and iNew claiming 5.5mm and 6.5mm only to find out when the phone was actually released that they were reporting only the very edge thickness. We wouldn’t be surprised to if Umi jumped in on this little scheme as well, as the war of the thinnest phone is in full swing. mtk6592-umi-x3

The Umi X3 will have a 5.5″ LCD@1080p and is rumored to be using the same screen as in the LG Optimus G Pro. This bit of news is a welcome surprise. LG makes some of the best LCDs in the business, and if the same screen truly is used in the Umi X3, it will give the model a huge boost in popularity.

In another interesting spin, the Umi X3 will lack an SD expansion slot, but come with a whopping 64GB built in storage.

No information on what type of camera other than that it will  be 14mp. If it’s up to the standards of it’s other specs, we’re guessing it will be a quality shooter. Battery will be 3150mA, which is a great feat in a 5.5″ 7.2mm phone.

While we’re far away from knowing all the bands the Umi X3 will support, we’re hoping they’ll have a thought that it’s now 2014 and have enough sense to release a phone that has LTE compatibility world wide.

Really looking forward to this one. It’s a step ahead for China brands in several areas and if Umi’s track record is anything to go by, they’ll likely pull it off in style.
