In the past, MediaTek wouldn’t release new Android kernels until a new SoC was released, leaving many users who wanted the latest and greatest to flop and flounder through half-baked, bug-riddled ROMs.
MTK seems to have seen the error of their ways and have now made official kernels available to manufacturers.
Here we have the list of already released or soon to be released MediaTek mobiles with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Hmmm I have a Leagoo Shark 1. It has 5.1 now. I’ve asked Leagoo support about plans to have 6.0 and they’ve said that there are NO plans to release a 6.0 firmware currently. While this list tells that Leagoo Shark will have A6.0 release “now”. I wonder who is right about it – this list or Leagoo support?

Shark is a great phone and it definitely worse a long life. And android 6 release would surely prolong it’s lifespan.

Interesting Juan, every respectable shop we see lists Elephone M3 as Android 5.1.
In addition, the most recent official ROM from Elephone for M3 is Android 5.1. Released last week (10-MAY).
