Zenfone 3 is here at last, with some surprisingly unique specs. While it’s only been 16 months since the Zenfone 2 was first announced, this is an eternity in the world of mobiles, where some brands release the next iteration within several months of each other, and brands are here and gone within that same time frame.

Spec summary tidbits
- The Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra are using the Sony IMX318 which boasts an incredibly 23mp
- Zenfone 3 Ultra is carrying a huge 6.8″ display and the new Snapdragon 652, which is the 2nd followup to Snapdragon 650 in Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
- Zenfone 3 Deluxe is considered the flagship model by Asus, comes with a Super AMOLED display, and will be available with up to 128GB of RAM
- All three models will accept TF SD expansion
We have no hope that Asus will leave behind their dizzying model methodology, but one thing they’ve left behind for sure is Intel SoCs. And, if you can get past the slightly confusing array of models– their phones are well made and powerful at very competitive price point.
We liked the Zenfone 2 we reviewed last year, and Zenfone 3 looks to shake things up once again with some intriguing specs.
