MTK6757 Helio P20 UMi Plus Extreme / UMi Plus E preview
UMi, one of the longest running China brands, has officially announced their phone– UMi Plus Extreme, also known as UMi Plus E.

What’s makes UMi Plus E special is that it may be the first Helio P20 MT6757 mobile to be released.
Helio P20 is the significantly more powerful follow up to the very successful Helio P10, and according to leaked benchmarks, scores a big 60% higher than Helio P10 on GeekBench 4.
UMi Plus E RAM
The Samsung eMMC5.1 LPDDR4 RAM on the UMi Plus E will be an enormous 6GB. This is a huge amount of RAM for a mobile phone and should be more than enough even for power users.
UMi Plus E ROM
ROM storage on the UMi Plus E will be an excellent 64GB, and is expandable via TF SD card up to an additional 256GB.
UMi Plus E cameras
The camera sensor in the UMi Plus E will be Samsung S5K3L8. This is a true 13MP sensor and should put out some solid images.
The front camera sensor will carry a 5.0MP GalaxyCore GC5005.
UMi Plus E Display
One of the highlights of recent UMi mobiles is the display they’ve chosen to use. It’s a 5.5″ Sharp 1080P IPS LTPS 2.5D protected display, and it’s perhaps the best LCD display we’ve seen in a mobile.
Smoothness is excellent; when viewing the screen even within just a few cm, the display remains looking sharp and retina, with no visible pixelation.
Color depth is likewise excellent, with deep blacks, pure whites, and rich color.
UMi Plus E battery
Staying true to their recent formula, the UMi Plus E will carry a Sony 4000mAh battery. In our recent tests of UMi Max, this battery gave us excellent screenon times of 8h or more on our 720P WiFi YouTube 140lux battery tests.
The UMi Plus E will carry Pump Express quick charge, which will allow the UMi Plus to charge at up to 1.25A@12V. This should charge the big UMi Plus E 4000mAh battery from dead to full in 2 hours flat.
When will UMi Plus E be released?
According to UMi, the UMi Plus E is being marketed as a 2017 mobile. We should see UMi Plus E before the middle of January 2017 and is being sold on pre-sale for $199.99.
