Incredible. New Blackview BV8000 Pro supports true Global 4G LTE and 3G

The just released Blackview BV8000 Pro supports an incredible number of bands. Equivalent to what you would normally need to pay twice as much to get. This is one of the first few phones which support a near full array of the most important bands to make it truly Global.

This includes North America, as it supports bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 17, which make it 100% compatible in all areas for T-Mobile and AT&T and all of their MVNOs, which includes companies such as H20, Airvoice, Cricket, Walmart Family Mobile, StraightTalk, and such.

Euro and UK are fully covered, as the phone has bands 1, 3, 7, and importantly, band 20 (800), which is often not covered by phones from Xiaomi and Meizu.

Africa. You are all set. The Blackview BV8000 has 1, 3, 7, 20, and 40.

And of course, Asia is covered with 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 40, 41, and 42.

The Middle East is covered by 3, 7, 8, 20, 40, 41, and 42.

I’ve already done quite a lot of testing with the Blackview BV8000 Pro. We have a bit more to do, but so far it’s quick, smooth, plays all 3D games, has a big 4000mAh battery, great sound, strong WIFi and GPS, is IP68 certified (Waterproof and Dustproof), and has a beautiful 1080P 5.0″ display, giving it an excellent and very retina 440ppi.

The full review will be at GizBeat.com/review. But, you can be sure this will be a phone we will be recommending. Already two OTAs have come through for the month of July, which means we know that Blackview is committed to supporting the BV8000 Pro.

Awesome phone quick-review and spec dump!

It is exciting to finally see China phones with the frequencies necessary to operate in the USA and beyond. It is only missing band 30

I’m still a big fan and would love to have devices separated by frequency capability. I am sure it would also drive website traffic.

Keep up the good work and looking forward to the full review.

The so far has been quite good. A few minor issues and slightly bizarre OS design choices.

EDIT: Previous info regarding camera was incorrect. The rear camera is S5K3P3. The front camera is S5K4H8. Went out shooting again today and much better results.

Not sure if you saw previous comment Ed, but previous info was incorrect regarding sensor.

Part of the problem on my first session is that the OS automatically lifts shadows/brightens when looking at them fit to window (not the saved file), making more or less properly exposed shots look overexposed.

So, switched to Pro and set exposure compensation -1 and -2. These underexposed shots then of course looking good on the phone LCD because of shadow lifting/brightening, but way too dark viewing in anything other than Blackview OS.

The gist is that auto mode shots are fine, though will look overexposed in Blackview BV8000 Pro when viewing fit to screen (when zooming in, the “real” photo show as they should, though can’t get a full view of the pic because zoomed in).

That is quite interesting. It would seem that they have compensated for the camera sensor by tailoring it to the device. They wouldn’t be the first to do so and seems nice enough. However, it still would have been nice at the price range (around $300) to include a setup like the Zuk with a Sony IMX214 and OIS.

I suppose we can’t have everything. I’ve played the frequency game with China devices many times in the past and at this point, it is probably the most important bit to get right. I’m glad to see this phone!

As an aside, I see that the Gearbest link does not list band 12 as available on this device, but without VoLTE, T-Mobile is going to want to block band 12 anyways.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to more information about this interesting device. Good write-up and information. Much appreciated.

Here is the support link according to Blackview: http://www.blackview.hk/blackview-198/. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if they missed something.

      Blackview BV8000 Pro supports VoLTE.
