Recently popularized by the Samsung Galaxy S8, the 18:9 display ratio has seen a lot of love recently by China brands.
Oukitel’s latest is the C8, an ultra-budget 18:9 mobile with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

The MT6580A is getting a bit long in the tooth but is great for these ultra-budget phones. It’s not an SOC I’d recommend for demanding users but is good for gifts for kids or for casual users. One of the big pluses of these cheap phones is that lost, stolen, or dropped, it’s not a huge loss.
Interestingly, even at this price, Oukitel has managed to give us 2GB RAM and a 640P display (not 720P due to screen ration), and a very respectable battery at 3000mAh.
Also interesting, Oukitel is shipping the C8 direct from Germany, Spain, Russia, France, Italy, and China. Though the cost of the phone is a bit higher for non-China, users from these countries can benefit from quick delivery and won’t have to worry about duty or taxes.
