Cyanogenmod Coming Closer To Release!

As we reported a couple months back, Faea has been working on a release of Cyanogenmod on Faea F2s.

The release of Cyanogenmod for China brands seems to be several steps closer to fruition, as we have obtained an image of CG running on the F2S. How stable it is remains to be seen.

The best part of CM coming to Faea is that once it’s been made fully stable for an MTK model, it will be much easier for developers to port it over to other MTK phones. Thus we should see an explosion of Cyanogenmod ROMs coming shortly after the Faea F2S version is released.

So what’s the big deal about Cyanogenmod? Beyond the fact that it’s fun as hell to flash a new ROM, the Cyanogenmod team is made up of many enthusiast programmers who have made it their duty to take original AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and mod it so that it’s:

• More Secure
• Lighter footprint
• Bloat-free
• Customizable
• Open

Sounds good right? Light and more secure is always good. We’re looking forward to the release of CM for Faea F2s. Let’s hope it happens sooner rather than later so we can get to work porting it to other MTK China brand phones.
