MT6595 Released – MTK6595 Antutu

The day arrived. July 15th at 14:00, MTK6595 aka MT6595 was finally officially announced and released by MediaTek.

We have written extensively about MT6595, and I will summarize some of those points here, but I do recommend you check out the full MT6595 review, as well as the GPU post and comments that follow. It’s not all repeat in this post. You will find a few extra tidbits regarding audio and the huge Antutu score that needs to be seen to be believed.

MT6595 Key Specs:

  • LTE / 4g compatibility
  • PowerVR G6200 GPU
  • 8 Core Cortex-A7 & Cortex-A17 big.LITTLE
  • H.265 hardware support
  • 120Hz display capable
  • Video HDR
  • 24-bit 192kHz audio output
  • 933MHz dual channel LPDDR3 support
  • eMMC5.0
  • MHL
  • low-power Bluetooth
  • GPS GLONASS support

The Antutu score hit an excellent 47,000+. We know that Antutu is not the end-all-be-all, and we do not know at what resolution this score was achieved, but it is still a very promising result.

In addition there was data presented at the release which showed Cortex-A17 performance 1.6 times better than A15, but with significantly better power usage than Cortex-A15.

If the MT6595 is only now being released, what is the story on this china clone being sold on hopewholesale.com?

Are they just lying in the specs to sell phones?

    Thanks,
    Uncle Al

This was the official release. The chips have been going out to manufacturers for awhile now.

The description of the phone you linked to says ‘MT6592’.

I suspect the title says MT6595 either to get people to click, or a mistake by whoever did the entry.

That’s not to say that some MT6595 aren’t being leaked. I would expect them to begin showing up anytime within the next month.

    Thanks Damian.

I agree about the possible entry mistake, and I assumed that too except for the fact that they claim it also supports 4G LTE which made me double take. Not only that, but they are selling 3 different models (16GB/32GB/64GB) so you would think that the same misprint wouldn’t show up in 3 separate descriptions.

If it is legit, I’m shocked that they were able to get so many this early to build into S5 clones. Interesting to say the least…

    Thanks,
    Uncle Al

MT6592 is also LTE compatible. Its just a question of using a different modem.

At any rate, I wouldn’t recommend sending your dough to an unknown shop.

My gut tells me there’s something not right here, but it could be many things. Presale and have you waiting for months, fake specced phone, or it could be the real deal and ship out right away. Somehow I’m doubting the latter.

    Damian,

MT6592 is LTE compatible??? Wow that gives me a lot of hope for the MT6592 octa-core S5 clone I am using right now! If I could get a new modem installed I could connect to 4G LTE. This is asking a lot, but if you could point me in the right direction to get the correct modem that would be amazing.

I fully agree with you… It does seem that something is not right here and I would not send my hard-earned cash to this place when they are showing (most likely) fake specs!

Sorry Al, I perhaps wasn’t clear. Both MT6592 and MT6582 are compatible with LTE, but this is something that would need to be done at the factory or perhaps by a very experienced electronics expert. Its not an end user type job.

Didn’t mean to get your hopes up.

According to reports we should begin to see 82 and 92 SoC phones with LTE “any day now”.

    Hello Damian,
I am a full supporter of the “China phones” and there for, of your work. Several month ago, I left a request, concerning upgrades from Android 4.x to 4.4 for some of the latest devices.
Unfortunately, I have not received any kind of reply.
I do own several China phones, and have in use currently the inew i6000, and the zopo 998, on a daily basis.
I have seen several posts stating, that, at least for the zopo 998, an upgrade to android 4.4.2 is released. I have, as a matter of fact, found the file on the zopo HP. The problem is, that eventing there is in Chinese language, and the translation to English reveals just the name of the device in English. Every further information stays in Chinese.
Can you help me by information, on how to receive the upgrade in English or another western language?
Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you this time, regards chris clark

      Hi Chris,

If you absolutely must have 4.4.2 for some reason, please check out http://www.needrom.com, they may have an update available for your phones there.

4.2.2 is a fine OS and I have phones that have the update available, yet there’s no compelling reason to upgrade, so I leave them on Jelly Bean. My advice is just to leave it alone if it’s running fine.
