Oukitel is one of the many new China brand companies that have entered the phone market over the last year. I’m not sure the name is a solid Western marketing decision, but actually when saying it out loud, it has an interesting ring to it.

They haven’t been as aggressive with marketing as brands such as Ulefone and Elephone, but that’s not always a bad thing.
The Oukitel U10 is an MT6753 based mobile. The CPU cores in the MT6753 are Cortex-A53 and clocked at 1.3GHz vs MT6752’s 1.7GHz.
The OS on the Oukitel U10 is Android 5.1. Very interesting that we’re beginning to see Android 5.1 on MTK based mobiles before major brands such as Asus and Sony.
The display on the Oukitel U10 will be 5.5″@1080p, giving us a retina PPI of 400. The camera will be 5mp up front and 13.0mp for rear. Ram will be 3GB and storage 16GB. The battery will be 2850mAh.
As par for the recent course, OTG is included, as well as a fingerprint security scanner.
The body of the Oukitel is closed and SIMs/SD are inserted from the side. The Oukitel U10 has 2.5D front glass, which I find adds a subtle touch of class. The sides are rounded a la iPhone 6. The back is set up in three distinct sections.

While the SoC isn’t as powerful as MT6752, MT6753 is well beyond what’s needed to run Android smoothly. For a 1080p, 3GB, 5.5″ phone, the Oukitel is aggressively priced.
I’m always curious when new brands come around. We’ve seen some older brands, such as Ulefone, come out of the woodwork and stop making clones, and begin to produce some surprisingly unique and solid mobiles.
We’ve also seen some solid new brands, as well as brands still struggling to find their footing. I’ll be very interested to see where Oukitel stands.
