Word is that the delivery of the 2nd round of JiaYu / JaiYu G3 smartphone purchases will be delayed. Reportedly due to lack of covers. Perhaps the dumb and dumber photo used for the Qualcomm article should go along with this article instead.
Anyone who follows GizBeat knows that I’ve been urging people to be understanding, however this is starting to look very bad for JiaYu / JaiYu. From changing the LCD and camera at the last minute to problems with the screens in the first batch, and now they don’t have the covers.
To make sure the covers were ready seems like a painfully simple thing, and it really shines a sad light on JiaYu / JaiYu, whether “covers” are really at the heart of the current drama or not.
One of my main concerns is warranty handling and general customer service. Often when there are problems in one area of a company, it can be a tell regarding others.
On a positive note, JiaYu / JaiYu will make up for this delay by giving the cover for free.
