As we see from the table, the MTK6737 specwise doesn’t look like a big update to MTK6735. However, according to touts from the recently announced HomTom HT17, MT6737 promises a 10-20% increase in performance, 25% more efficient battery use, and 52% improved battery efficiency during idle mode.
This is achieved with new software algorithms and an improved SoC design.

The bigboy on the table in the budget world will be MTK6737T. The MTK6737T in addition to the aforementioned improvements, also includes a 15% faster RAM BUS (733 v 640MHz) and 15% faster CPU cores (1.5 v 1.3GHz).
A fond farewell
The MT6735 was very popular in 2015 and beginning of 2016. It’s a very good budget SoC, and it looks like 2016 will see more goodness from its kin, MT6737M MT6737 and MT6737T, as 35 fades to the background.
