HTC 10 Pro is a new Helio P10 MTK6755 mobile

Rewind two or three years and you’d find people shrugging off MTK MediaTek. We predicted MTK would begin to show up in mainstream brand mobiles. And so they did, with the likes of Sony and HTC using MediaTek MTK based SoC.

Helio P10 MT6755

The most recent mainstream MediaTek release is the HTC Pro 10. The HTC Pro 10 will carry MTK6755 Helio P10. The Helio P10 is our favorite mid-range SoC. As of August, there are no less than 50 models carrying the Helio P10.

HTC Pro 10 specs

  • SoC: MT6755 Helio P10
  • Display: 5.5″@1080P IPS OGS with Gorilla Glass protection
  • TF SD expansion support: Yes
  • RAM: 4GB
  • ROM storage: 64GB
  • Rear camera: 20mp, f2.2, 28mm, laser autofocus
  • Front camera: 13mp, f2.2, 28mm
  • Battery: 300mAh

Notably, the HTC Pro 10 carries a rear 20 MP, f/2.2, 28mm, laser autofocus, and a significant front camera as well at 13mp. Both rear and front have a fairly wide angle 28mm field of view.

We also see it has a huge 4GB RAM and huge 64GB RAM and is capable of expanding storage up to an additional 256GB.

How much is HTC 10 Pro?

The HTC 10 Pro has just officially gone on sale and is available for $240. This is significantly more than we see China brand Helio P10 mobiles selling for, but may be worth it to those who value owning a phone with mainstream branding and all that comes with it.

While that’s a little pricy for the p10, the camera could potentially make it a decent deal. Could be good competition for the entry level zenfone 3. Too bad it’s only 3000mah battery. I am liking the 4000mah trend of the last few months.

It’s unfortunate many brands aren’t following the 4000mAh parade Xiaomi started. It automatically crosses them off the list for my dollar.

This HTC is interesting, and I think P10 should be enough for most everyone, but as you said, tough to shell out this much dough given phones like RN3P@$145 and China brand Helio P10 selling at $150-175.

I agree. The p10 is perfectly adequate for my needs. Heck, I’m fine with my mtk 6753 m2 note still. SoC performance is to the point that no one needs flagship performance except for serious gamers. I would love to see companies offering a mid range SoC (p10, SD 625, etc.) along with great camera, screen and build quality. Battery life is a huge priority for me though, and I can’t see myself making any future purchases of anything under 4000mh, unless it is optimized amazingly well.

Same here. I’ve been using the Innos D6000 for the last year, though it carries the rather laggy Snapdragon 615.

MT6753 is fine…There’s little discernable difference between that and high end 100k Antutu SoC.

Even MT6737 should be fine for most users. MT6580 played Asphalt 8 at 30fps no problem (though 720P).

BTW, Redmi Pro review coming within next couple days. Exclusively to the app for first 10 days (app not released yet). It’s excellent all around, but due to being so sharp, the OLED display exhibits a bit more pixelation than we’d like to see.

Careful! That’s awful close to heresy to admit the SD 615 and mtk 6753 are actually perfectly fine for most users :) I’m even starting to see references to the SD 820 as “outdated” now the 821 is available. Sadly comical, I guess. Looking forward to the redmi pro review. I’ll keep an eye out for the app.

MT6753 is fine. Most users won’t notice a big difference, if any, compared to high-powered SoC…Power users may notice some things here and there.

Though I’ve survived with Snapdragon 615, I’d not recommend. It’s too laggy for anything other than casual users/undemanding users.

Qualcomm didn’t have a great 2015 between the SD 810 overheating issues and the sd615 struggling. Their 600 series chips this year have been very good though. The SD 617 is what the 615 should have been, and The SD 625 looks like it is a great mid range SoC. The 650 and 652 are excellent. For my needs, the SD 615 would probably still be OK, but I agree it definitely underperformed
