Xiaomi Redmi 5 certification and rumored specs

Images of the upcoming Redmi 5 Plus show it with dual-cameras and an 18:9 display covering a massive portion of the front real estate.

The Redmi 5 Plus is rumored to have a 5.7″ 720P display and support Quick Charge 3.0. I find these two rumored specs to be a bit out of sync with each other, eg. 720P on a 5.7″ display is a lowish spec, while QC 3.0 is generally a higher end spec. I would be surprised to find out both of these end up being true, but stranger things have happened.

Additionally, the Redmi 5 Plus render shows two rear cameras, though how this will be implemented is unknown. Indeed, it may not end up having two cameras at all.

There may be a Redmi 5 Duo and Redmi 5 standard in addition to the Redmi 5 Plus. Options will come in 3GB or 4GB.

Leaked 3C certification shows they are codenamed MET7 and MEET7. We should see more official news later this month.

Rumors allege the devices will retail from 699-999 yuan.
