TCL Idol X+ S960T To 2.0GHz MT6592 Confirmed! Scores 32,000 On Antutu!

tcl-idol-x+-s960t-mtk6592A special news conference was held in Beijing today with TCL. TCL chairman Li Dongsheng, TCL Communications Director Guo Aiping and MediaTek chiarman Mr. Cai Mingjie were all on site at the conference.

We wrote a post a short while back about the possibility of TCL Idol X+ S960T getting the 2.0GHz MTK6592 version. It’s now been confirmed as of today that this is indeed the case.

It was also announced at the conference that TCL will be releasing a smart bracelet dubbed the ‘Boom Band’ that can interact with the Idol X+ S960T.

The phone hits a whopping 32,000 on Antutu, has a 5.0″ 1080p LCD, a 13mp F2.0 aperture camera which supports gyroscope image stabilization, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It’s interesting the TCL Idol X+ S960T isn’t coming with 32GB storage, but in our opinion this isn’t a big problem, as it will reportedly have an SD slot for external storage. The border will be a super thin 1.9mm and the battery will be a hefty 2500mA.

Some of the best news is for music enthusiasts. The 2.0GHz MT6592 TCL Idol X+ S960T will come with a ES9018 HI-FI chip, and Maxim 9720 built-in headphone amplifier.

The presales will begin on January 15th, 2014.
