We’ve already shown the unboxing in part 1, and the daylight photos in part 2. In part 3, we’ll go over some of the components. After spending a couple of days with the MTK6582 iNew V3, I can without a doubt say it’s one of the best buys out there right now. Read on to find out why.
MTK6582 iNew V3 LCD
The LCD can be classified as excellent. This is a true IPS display. The resolution is 720p and presents a very crisp, clear, bright image on the iNew V3. The viewing angles are perfect, and even from extreme angles, the color remains bright and true. 720p is fine for a 5.0″ phone, and from a normal viewing distance, the large majority of people would be able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 5″ LCD.
MTK6582 iNew V3 External Speaker
The external speaker on the V3 can be classified as very good. The sound when listening to tunes from 8tracks was very loud. Not the loudest we’ve ever heard from a smartphone, but certainly louder than the majority of China mobiles. Easily loud enough to fill a medium room, or for speaker phone calls. Remember, this is subjective. Don’t expect it to sound like your Denon home system and you’ll be more than happy.
MTK6582 iNew V3 Microphone
Though not extensively tested, over the course of several short phone calls, I was never asked to repeat anything even though I was outdoors at a noisy gas station. The iNew V3 is reported as having ‘dual-mics’, however I have yet to open the phone to confirm it.
MTK6582 iNew V3 Earpiece
The V3’s earpiece can be classified as very good. The person on the other end sounded clear and loud. Even in somewhat noisy environment, you should be able to hear the person on the other end without any problem at all.
MTK6582 iNew V3 LED
The LED was brighter than I expected it to be. It could be classified as very bright. Nice little flashlight, and should make a significant difference with relatively close photos indoors and in the dark.
Conclusion
As anyone who has had several China phones knows, it’s hard to find the perfect package with a China mobile. Often there will be issues with a soft LED, or crappy sound quality when speaking or listening, or possibly a too quiet external speaker. The iNew V3 thankfully has none of these problems. This is a great buy for a sub-$200 China mobile.
