The Xiaomi Mi3 was a huge hit, landing it on the top 10 phones in the world list. An amazing feat for a company which released their first smartphone a scant 2.5 years ago. They also were one of the fastest companies to hit become a $10 billion entity.
They do have their own set of issues though. Despite the excellent sales and hitting the top 10 charts, the company sells their phones at near cost to stay competitive and give them an edge over the likes of Huawei, Samsung and Apple. Also they face the challenge of not currently having a retail presence in the American market.
They will forge ahead though. And the news is the successor to the Mi3 will be coming to market before Q3 hits.
The Xiaomi Mi3S will carry a 1080p 5.0″ LCD, quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, 13mp rear camera, 8mp front camera and LTE/4G radio.
The rumored price is $320 without a contract which makes it about half the price of competing iPhone and new model Samsungs.
