If you don’t know about this little gem, it’s time to check it out. It combines all the popular chat protocols into one clean package. Though it’s not perfect, it’s the best multi-chat client I’ve used for Android and PC/Mac browser.
It supports ‘push to talk’ voice messaging, which I’ve found very useful on my Android. It’s easier than SMS, and allows you to listen and send at your convenience as opposed to a regular voice call. It has full VOIP feature as well – For those of you who have the need, you can call directly through IMO to anyone else with the client installed on their Android.
It loads and signs in extremely quickly. The PC/Mac browser version allows itself to be popped out, so that it looks and behaves like a standalone client would.

One of the great things about IMO.IM is that it supports Skype without any permissions needed. Skype doesn’t need to be open as is the case with some multi-chat clients, and many multi-chat clients don’t support Skype at all.
IMO.IM is completely free, and ad-free as well.
Unfortunately, IMO.IM doesn’t support video chat on Android. Also, it would be nice if they included some themes. A night theme would be excellent and save battery life , but for some reason they’ve decided not to include this much requested feature.
One last thing I’ll mention is that IMO.IM has a very interesting take on chat rooms. Basically people type a theme, or a thought and it creates a room that anyone can enter to discuss said theme. Or you can search people as well and find new friends to chat with.
To get started, all you need to do is search out “imo.im” from your Android/iPhone, or type “imo.im” into your PC/Mac browser.
