Doogee DG550 Sells Out in One Week Flat

doogee-dg550-reviewThe Doogee DG550 is very similar looking to the iNew V3, but is slightly bigger at 5.5″ as opposed to 5.0″ and comes with MT6592 as opposed to MT6582 and lacks NFC. I wrote a full specification review of this phone and will have a hands-on and review coming beginning of next week.

Gizbeat obtained an excellent special from Gearbest for our readers. They are offering the phone at $159.99 + 8GB SD + free shipping. However, the popularity of the phone was misjudged and even though the phone was just released last week, the Doogee DG550 is already out of stock from the Doogee factory.

Originally the coupon was to be for only 72 hours, but due to the out of stock issue, Gearbest will be extending the coupon during the waiting period.

The phone has been promised by Doogee to be in stock by the 26th and ready for shipping from shops by the 28th.

If you’re interested in this phone and have some patience, the coupon code is: “gizbeat550”. please check out the full thread on Gearbest’s sub-forum to stay fully updated.

Can somebody please ask Doogee why they are STILL using fake “4.2.9” Android version number in their phones?!??! So unprofessional and retarded! Why? I don’t understand this bullshit. It makes the phone look so cheap in my eyes. PS: If you didn’t know, 4.2.9 does not exist and 4.2.2 is the last real 4.2.x version.

I will not be judging the phone based on this. I do not see it as a reflection on the phone, but as a reflection on Doogee. It’s quite strange.

One user has said this is relatively common practice when modding AOSP, but I have rarely seen it used.
