The day arrived. July 15th at 14:00, MTK6595 aka MT6595 was finally officially announced and released by MediaTek.
We have written extensively about MT6595, and I will summarize some of those points here, but I do recommend you check out the full MT6595 review, as well as the GPU post and comments that follow. It’s not all repeat in this post. You will find a few extra tidbits regarding audio and the huge Antutu score that needs to be seen to be believed.
MT6595 Key Specs:
- LTE / 4g compatibility
- PowerVR G6200 GPU
- 8 Core Cortex-A7 & Cortex-A17 big.LITTLE
- H.265 hardware support
- 120Hz display capable
- Video HDR
- 24-bit 192kHz audio output
- 933MHz dual channel LPDDR3 support
- eMMC5.0
- MHL
- low-power Bluetooth
- GPS GLONASS support
The Antutu score hit an excellent 47,000+. We know that Antutu is not the end-all-be-all, and we do not know at what resolution this score was achieved, but it is still a very promising result.
In addition there was data presented at the release which showed Cortex-A17 performance 1.6 times better than A15, but with significantly better power usage than Cortex-A15.
