TCL is an international brand, mainly known for their budget flat screen televisions which are sold around the world. Allied with Alcatel France, over the last couple of years they’ve also produced some solid mobiles.
Due to international retail product sales and being partnered with Alcatel, one should expect to receive a bit better customer support and QC than we normally get from the standard China budget brands.
Today we’ll preview the upcoming TCL 3S M3G. Beyond the comfort of knowing this is an internationally recognized brand, the TCL 3S M3G boasts some great specs as well.
- 5.0″ – phone size is increasingly rapidly, with the typical popular China phones coming at 5.5″. Nice to see that some companies are still producing 5.0″ phones
- 1080p OGS IPS display – in a 5.0″ phone, this provides an outstanding retina experience. I’m generally a fan of 720p in anything under 7.0″, but there is a case to be made for higher resolution as well.
- Big 3050mAh battery – Even pushing 1080p, the big battery here should provide good battery life in a 5.0″ mobile
- Worldwide 3G – 850/900/1900/2100 should be the standard of any mobile these days, and excellent to see the TCL 3S M3G coming with Worldwide 3G
- 2GB RAM – more and more phones coming with at least 2GB of RAM, what makes this especially interesting is the price
- Qualcomm SoC – the SoC in the TCL 3S M3G is Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with Adreno 405. Also known as MSM8939, this is the same 8-core 1.5GHz SoC used in the LG G4.
