On the map: 2015 was the year that really put MTK on the map. Their 64-bit SoCs becoming standard in $150 China brand mobiles, while Qualcomm phones costing twice as much were still floundering at 32-bit.
This doesn’t make a huge difference to the end user experience, but just as with “more megapixels is better”, 64-bit spec on a rapsheet adds an aura of impressiveness. (more…)
