In the past, MediaTek wouldn’t release new Android kernels until a new SoC was released, leaving many users who wanted the latest and greatest to flop and flounder through half-baked, bug-riddled ROMs.

MTK seems to have seen the error of their ways and have now made official kernels available to manufacturers.

Here we have the list of already released or soon to be released MediaTek mobiles with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

    3GB 1080P 6050mAh Ulefone Power preview

Ulefone got their start mostly making Samsung clones, but as of a year or so back they began developing their own styles. The Ulefone Be Pro, while looking very much like the OnePlus One, wasn’t really a clone. They then went on to develop the popular Ulefone Be Touch, one of the slicker phones I’ve had a chance to review. (more…)

At this point, Doogee has been around long enough to be called a seasoned China brand. We don’t hear nearly as much about them as we used to, but this is mostly due to Doogee concentrating their efforts at the retail level in Europe and the UK. (more…)

    3GB 1080P budget Ecoo E04 preview MT6753

Pricing on China smart phones are dropping fast, but we are also seeing incredible performance gains and quality for these prices. Ecoo is a relatively new player in the China phone game, having been producing phones since MT6592, but are giving us a very powerful mobile at a great price point.

Ulefone has been around for awhile, but didn’t come to prominence until their release of the very popular Ulefone Be 1. Within a few weeks of its release, the Ulefone Be 1 became very difficult to get and the Ulefone Be Touch 2 was announced. (more…)

Bluboo is a brand who had been around for quite awhile, then disappeared off the map for about half a year. They came back with one of the first mega-battery mobiles, the Bluboo X550. This model was generally well received, providing great battery life and minimal reported issues. (more…)

    Elephone M2 trunk review specifications 3GB 32GB 1080P

I recently reviewed the very good Elephone P8000. It lacked a couple of components that you’d expect at the price they’re selling it, but otherwise was one of the better phones I’ve reviewed over the years. It looks great, has great battery life and solid build, along with a stable Android 5.1.

    elephone-m2-review-M2_photos_3

Elephone, well known for putting out one phone after another, already has the next set planned — Elephone Trunk, Elephone M1, and Elephone M2. When I see a mobile dubbed Elephone Trunk, I lower and shake my inner mind in disbelief, but there it is.

    Elephone P8000 review 4165mAh 3GB MT6753 touch ID

Elephone rampaged onto the scene about a year back and in that short time have already become one of the better known China brands. This is largely due to heavy hype marketing. Let’s not surround “hype” with negative connotation, as that’s what marketing generally is — hype. But, there is still some responsibility to produce a modicum of what’s been promised. (more…)
