    MobileHike.com website down

Approximately 24 hours prior to this post MobileHike.com stopped loading. We thought at first this was a DNS or server issue, however as of 12 hours ago MobileHike now points to GoDaddy default.

In addition, some registrars are now showing the site has transferred ownership from a China address to an India address.

We had the optimistic thought that perhaps MobileHike.com had accidentally let their domain name lapse and someone had snatched it up. Unfortunately, old registrar info shows that the domain wasn’t set to expire until 13-MAY-2016.

Either MobileHike.com changed their registrar info, or they cancelled their ownership of MobileHike.com and someone else snatched the domain.

Regardless, we have no contact from them within 24 hours and our Skype contact has not replied. Their site is down and registrar info has changed. At this point we assume it’s not a DNS/site/server problem.

We recommend any users who have purchased from MobileHike.com begin the refund process ASAP. Do not wait.

Make sure to gather all relevant information. Screenshots of the domain down, any sales confirmation screenshots, etc…

Our sympathies to anyone who needs to deal with this.

There is a thread at ChinaPhoneArena.com, or you may comment here with questions or comments. Please keep it civil. Regards.

Popcorntime downloads are back, but Timeforpopcorn never left

Popcorntime gives even the most non-technical people the ability to join in on the pirating parade

Currently https://popcorntime.sh and https://popcorntimece.ch/, or http://ci.popcorntime.sh for the Android version are the top recommendations from the respected community and have full open source available to check for malicious honeypot code.

Gizbeat does not condone pirating, we are here only to inform regarding the latest updates to the ongoing Popcorntime Timeforpopcorn saga.

Pirates use the folder icon to search for a movie

Few apps have caused as much controversy as Popcorntime. While pirating the latest movies and TV series has been around since broadband hit us, it usually required users to use torrenting apps or to navigate through sites full of pop-ups and malware.

    MT6755 Helio P10 and new Lenovo K52

On the map: 2015 was the year that really put MTK on the map. Their 64-bit SoCs becoming standard in $150 China brand mobiles, while Qualcomm phones costing twice as much were still floundering at 32-bit.

This doesn’t make a huge difference to the end user experience, but just as with “more megapixels is better”, 64-bit spec on a rapsheet adds an aura of impressiveness. (more…)
