TCL News Conference Is A Let Down!
While many of us were hoping to hear news of a MTK6588 / MTK6589 release this year from TCL, that wasn’t the case. In fact, CPU type wasn’t even mentioned.
Though we didn’t exactly get what we were hoping for, we did get some stats on upcoming lines of TCL phones for 2013.
- “Star S850″ with a super-slim profile of 6.55mm, 4.7” AMOLED 1280*720, dual-core CPU and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
- “Play” with QHD LCD, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a price of – translated into English – ‘the Cock Silk’. Ummm… GizBeat will likely leave this phone alone.
- “You Y900″ with a 5” HD LCD, quad-core CPU and Android 4.1.
All in all, not a very informative set of stats, and no word of MTK6588 / MTK6589 inside of 2012. It’s no problem, at least we got a hot, asian chick promo shot out of the deal.
