The successor to the very popular Meizu MX3 — Meizu MX4, is scheduled to be released some time in August.
Though little is confirmed regarding specs, the Meizu MX4 will most likely not be carrying an MTK solution. That leaves Qualcomm and Samsung in the mix. Though previous iterations of Meizu had a Samsung SoC, it’s very possible Meizu MX4 will opt for an LTE based Qualcomm solution as the 64-bit Exynos 5430 with LTE is yet unreleased.
There are three different versions of the Meizu — Meizu MX4 Mini, Meizu MX4 Standard and Meizu MX4 Ultimate. Rumored prices are 1999 yuan, 2499 yuan and 2999 yuan respectively.
There have been rumors flying regarding resolution as well. With some sources hinting at a 2k 1536×2560 5.5″ display and a 2nd 5.0 1080p display version. As several versions of the MX4 will be released, it could be either or both end up being true. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Meizu release a standard 5.0 HD version along with the Ultimate 5.5″ 2k version. 2k resolution is a bit overkill on a 5.5″ screen, but in regards to the common consumer more is always better.
Jack Wong, founder of Meizu has officially come forward and let it be known that at least one version of Meizu MX4 will have a fingerprint scanner.
