MT6595 MTK6595 Review Specifications – MHL, USB 3.0, eMMC 5.0
The rumors have been flying the last couple months and as we come closer to the MT6595 release, the rumors are turning to facts.
A few days ago I wrote about a release date for MT6595 and we are still in line with those expectations.
This post has a lot of geek info in it, but there is plenty for the non-geeks as well.
We see MTK6595 will be in an 8-core big.LITTLE configuration. Using quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 when heavy lifting isn’t required and then kicking in to Cortex-A15 when load reaches the threshold.
USB 3.0 will be supported out of the box. MT6595 will also support eMMC 5.0 which allows interface speeds of up to 400MB/s.
MT6595 will accept 4GB RAM clocked up to 933MHz, and it’s reported that MT6595 will be out of the box compatible with MHL 2.0. If this latter fact is true, it will be a nice leap for China phones as it’s one of the main things missing in current models when compared to the big boy brands.
We can also see that things are going to be quite diverse with the MTK6595 lineup, which will be classified according to speed. MT6595M@2.0GHz, MT6595 Standard@2.1-2.2GHz, and MT6595 Turbo@2.4-2.5GHz. The MT6595 Turbo will be released in Q4 after MT6595 and MT6595M have had time to breathe.
They will then further broken down based on the modes supported:
- CMCC 4G
- CU 4G
- CMCC 4G (TD-LTE/TDS/2G)
- 3G World Phone
- CMCC 3G
Take a look at #4 — 3G World Phone (+FDD+TDD+2G). Very interesting and let’s hope all 3G bands are included, as well as the major 4G/LTE bands.
You can also see there are more than several modules ready for manufacturers to plug into MT6595:
- RF1: MT6169V/A
- RF2: MT6261M
- PMU1: MT6331P/B
- PMU2: MT6332P/B
- WCN: MT6630QP/B
- NFC: MT6605N/B
What’s interesting to note here is that there’s no mention of the long touted MT6290.
Things are coming together quickly and Q3 MTK phones should be here before you know it. Share this post and help spread the good news.
