Xiaomi Mi5C review specifications
Xiaomi Mi5C review of specs
Just as a Xiaomi Mi4c was released, Xiaomi will also be putting out a Xiaomi Mi5c. The ‘C’ varient are generally a lower specced version. Let’s have a look at what Xiaomi is possibly giving us in the Mi5c.
There is scant information about the Mi5c at this point, so take these spec points with a grain of salt.
Xiaomi Mi5c SoC
While the Xiaomi Mi5 carries Snapdragon 820, and the Mi5s carries Snapdragon 821, the Xiaomi Mi5c will carry Snapdragon 818. Snapdragon 818.
As opposed to Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821 with Qualcomm’s own Kryo cores, Snapdragon 818 will be a 10-core ARM SoC, carrying Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53. The Snapdragon 818 wasn’t much more than a rumor a year ago, and even now there’s no information to be had on this mythical SoC.
The GPU is listed at China shops as having Adreno 405.
Xiaomi Mi5c RAM
According to the Xiaomi flyer, RAM will be 3GB.
Xiaomi Mi5c storage
Again, this is according to the flyer, not an official Xiaomi announcement. The Xiaomi Mi5c will have 32GB storage according to the flyer, but at some online China resellers, the Xiaomi Mi5c is listed as having 64GB.
As with previous Xiaomi devices, there may be two different versions released, a 32GB and a 64GB.
Xiaomi Mi5c frequency support
Interestingly, we see that Xiaomi Mi5c may have band 800 LTE. This is important for many networks in the UK and Euro. While there are some carriers that don’t require it, for maximum LTE compatibility, users in UK and Euro often prefer to have band 800.

From what I’ve read, the mi5c is supposed to come with an in-house soc referred to as “pine cone.” AnTuTu scores have been reported in the 60-65k range, so perhaps something intended to compete with the p10/sd625. I’m hoping it’s true. Samsung and Huawei have made some excellent SOC’s with their exynos and kirin lines. Would be nice to see Xiaomi do the same. At least for their mid to entry level models.
Hello Jh1, thanks for the tip here. It will be interesting if it turns out true. Xiaomi has come very far.
Looks rumors have been floating around about Xiaomi Mi5c for a couple months now. Interesting nothing yet, Xiaomi normally very quick to produce once the rumors start.
I was expecting to see the mi5c/Meri by now, but I haven’t heard much on it for the last month or so. The leaked photos looked nice, if they’re legit.
