Growing up there were two films that I could watch over and over again without being bored. One of them was Young Guns, and the other was Blade Runner. Right, these two films jump in opposite directions, one to the past and the other to the future, but they both equally enthralled me.
Blade Runner
The first Blade Runner didn’t do so well in the box office, but over time has drawn a big following, has been hailed by many experts as the best SciFi film of all time, and hits a huge 8.2 at IMDB.
It’s been many months since the sequel was confirmed, but it wasn’t until today that the first trailer was released. We see Ryan Gosling as the new generation of human police who are tasked to hunt down rogue replicants (cyborgs). Harrison Ford is back as well.
We don’t want to ruin anything regarding the first movie if you haven’t seen it. Suffice to say the trailer hints at something long suspected by fans and hinted at at the end of the first movie.
At the end of the first movie, we get a hint that Decker (Harrison Ford), who is a replicant hunter, is himself a replicant but unaware of the fact. Whether or not Decker is a replicant is true has never been discovered. Perhaps the sequel will shed light.
If you haven’t seen the first movie and are a fan of SciFi in any way, it needs to be watched.
