Breaking News! MTK MTK6599 Rumored To Launch Q2 2013!
Industry insiders are now saying that the 8-core MTK MT6599 / MTK6599 could be released as early as May 2013.
Along with this MTK MT6599 / MTK6599 tidbit, there is the additional rumor “confirmed by multiple insiders” that a smartphone with MTK MT6589 / MTK6589 will be released by TCL inside of 2012 – with ZTE, Huawei, Lenovo to follow in Q1 2013.
This issue has seesawed back and forth a couple times. One thing we can bet on is that within the next few months we’ll see smartphones with MTK MT6589 / MTK6589 released. As to the MTK quad-core Q4 2012 and MTK eight-core in Q2 2013 – we’ll have to wait and see.

If this news true, than Mediatek will be the first beside Samsung whom have been developing this newest technology. Samsung will announce their octa core product on February 2013 SoC worl conference but Mediatek according to this article could release it on May 2013? Whew, that‘s sounds a bit bombastic don‘t you think? Well, if it‘s true that means Mediatek will be one step ahead over Samsung, Nvidia and even Quallcomm!
