Xiaomi is coming to America
Not surprisingly Xiaomi is now in talks with USA carriers such as AT&T and Verizon.
The strategy of using carriers to sell phones is a very smart move and is part of the reason Apple has been so successful. Users of these expensive flagship phones rarely put the $700-1000 up front, but instead opt to enter plan agreements with carriers. This allows the end user to pay off the phone over a couple of years with their monthly payments.
According to Xiaomi’s executive, Wang Xiang, Xiaomi is hoping to enter the American market within two years. But if things go very smoothly, we may see Xiaomi in America before the end of 2018.
