Google Nexus 6 To Come With MTK 64-Bit SoC
I’m highly skeptical this news is anywhere near the truth, but latest rumors out of China are that the Google Nexus 6 scheduled for Q4 release will use MediaTek MT6732 & MT6752 SoC.
If it ends up being true, this will be huge news and a huge hit for MediaTek. Sony, HTC, Lenovo using MTK SoC in some of their models gives MTK some clout, but Nexus 6 coming with a MediaTek solution would skyrocket MTK.
It’s interesting to note that Nexus 6 is scheduled to come at around the same time as MT6732 & MT6752 are scheduled to be released.
Well as it is with most rumors, only the future will tell. Smart money wouldn’t likely be on this bet, but shockers are known to happen.

Actually – there have been rumors out there that Google was working with Mediatek for some kind of low-cost Nexus device. It’s probably not the Nexus device replacing the Nexus 5, but it might be a new line altogether. Wonder how Mediatek is going to take to having at least some of the source released.
