Meizu MX4 Review Antutu – Huge New Score
Meizu and Xiaomi have been running head to head, even dubbing their models with very similar nomenclature — Xiaomi using Mi3/Mi4 and Meizu using MX3/MX4.
The first MX4 Antutu scores showed in the 35,000 range, but a new Antutu score for the upcoming Meizu MX4 has now been leaked to the net showing the MX4 scoring an astronomical 52,811.
The new score is possibly due to the Meizu MX4 “high version” using a 2.2GHz version of the MT6595 SoC. If the results are real and not a Photoshop job, this could be likely, as the 2.2GHz version of MT6595 will be using a higher clocked GPU in addition to the higher clocked CPU, but the gap in the two scores are vast and it may be an entirely different SoC altogether.
Previously reported specifications of the Meizu MX4 include 1920*1152 display, 20.7mp main camera, use of “aircraft-grade magnesium alloy” materials and something I really like — a circular home key. As I’ve written often in the past, all it takes is one or two subtle and easily implemented changes to make a mobile unique and stand out in the crowd.
Meizu is holding an official new conference on September 2nd and we will be giving a full Meizu MX4 review of specifications then.

52811…shut up and take my money
It’s an amazing Antutu score. Waiting for the official September 2nd press conference. Should have more solid news then on what SoC Meizu has gone with to achieve such a high score, or if this is just a hoax to garner buzz for the phone.
My Xstreamer Q is getting a bit tired. Looking for a replacement. So far not much that has grabbed me yet. This phone might be my next upgrade.
Thanks for the article
Photoshop job
Honestly, I do not care a lot about any benchmarking scores.
What I do care is functionality of the phone.
For me, I will choose the lower score phone with a lot of stuff built into the phone than to buy the highest score phone with lacks lot of feature.
If one phone exist on market;
1. Can deliver high speed frame video recording for SloMo
2. Wide angle camera (>90′)
3. Dual frontal speaker
4. Lots of sensor
5. Built-in laser beam
6. High ampere battery
7. 3G switching of SIM1 & SIM2
8. Speedy GPS locking
9. Xenon flash
10 Dedicated hardware camera button
11 Built-in DTV tuner
12 Native 3D LCD without using 3D glass
13 Using industry standard (Miracast/WiDi, HDMI, NFC, OTG, DLNA, BT 4.0, etc)
14 Using standard Android AOSP version
15 Multi color LED Notification
16 Using Amprius battery
17 Capable for dual booting of OS (eg. NEO M1)
18 Built-in remote control
19 Removable Battery and built-in SDcard slot.
…etc.
If there is a phone close to this criterion, I will not hesitate to buy that phone.
For benchmarking score, really don’t care, since some big brands doing dirty trick to raise the score higher whenever benchmarking executed.
Anyway, Is there any good phone equal to THL 5000?
If there is, I want to compare them.
That’s quite a list. I will have the THL 5000 unboxing and perhaps the review as well by this weekend. I’m fairly sure it (nor any phone on the market, including the big brands) won’t satisfy all those criteria though. The THL 5000 will have to impress me big time to make me recommend it to the general public at $250.
The big attraction with THL 5000 is 2GB RAM and huge 5000mA battery. For some, those two factors alone may make it worth the extra dough.
How come you haven’t mentioned the fact that the first benchmark was run on the older antutu v4 and the new one on the new antutu v5 beta? high end phones like the S5,OPO,Mi4,Z2 e.t.c are scoring 30-34K on antutu v4 and well over 44K on the antutu v5 beta..
well 46k was shown at the official launch today… just impressive… MTK6595…
