Kingzone N5 review specifications 2GB 64-bit budget

Kingzone is one of the freshest players in the China phone market. Their first release that caught my eye was the MT6752 Kingzone Z1, which impressed me with it’s long battery life and eye-catching unique style.

Kingzone’s latest release is the amazingly priced Kingzone N5. The Kingzone N5 in contrast to the bigger is better recent releases is a 5.0″@720p mobile protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass. I applaud the decision by Kingzone to release a 5.0″ mobile into the market.

Stylewise the N5 is mostly square with slick siding and interesting capacitive button icons. There’s no silly slogans on the back, which is a big plus.

The SoC in the Kingzone N5 is the recently popular MT6735. The GPU is Mali-720, and the CPU is quad-core 64-bit clocked at 1.0GHz in the Kingzone N5. I’ve tested a couple of mobiles with the MT6735 1.0GHz and found this processor to be more than capable of running Android butter smooth.

The one unfortunate aspect of the N5 is the WCDMA support of 900/2100, so the Americas will want to give this phone a pass.

For those in WCDMA 3G 900/2100 areas and/or LTE 4G 800/1800/2100/2600MHz, and looking for a strong 2GB RAM phone at an excellent price, the N5 should be on the shortlist.

With this recommendation comes the assumption that OS, physical build quality and component quality will be similar to the Kingzone Z1.
