Prior to a few months ago, Windows tablets were not so common due to being cost prohibitive OS and SoC power not being quite there yet. Combined with the newer Intel SoCs and the free Windows 8.1 Bing / Windows 10, several China manufacturers have released very usable and affordable Windows tablets.
Up for preview today is the Teclast X98 Pro

Several months back Teclast released the popular Teclast X98 Air and X98 Air II. These 2 tablets, along with the Teclast X98 Pro are designed to look more than a bit like the Apple iPad.
The X5 – Z8500 Cherry Trail is a new SoC from Intel and is a significant pump up in performance from last year’s Intel Z3537.
Beyond the Teclast X98 Pro’s new SoC, is the QXGA 2048*1536 IPS display. I recently reviewed the Pipo W3F and felt the resolution looked very good. QXGA is a significant bump up in density and provides for a very retina experience.
The Teclast X98 Pro comes stock with Windows 10 and Android 5.0, which assures you get the best of both worlds — the latest Windows release and a recent Androids OS. This is a dual boot configuration, so upon boot you can choose which system you’d like to use.

The decision to not skimp on storage and give a large 64GB drive is perhaps one of the smartest Teclast has made here. We all know that Windows can fill up quick; but the internal 64GB along with the external TF SD expansion capability should provide enough space for most users.
