Picture War Review 2! Buffalo Mountain – iNew v3 vs Zopo zp980+ vs H9008
A couple days ago we posted our first photo war between these three phones. We’ve taken a few new pics. This time of a very nice scene including some buffaloes and mountains. MT6592 Hero Star H9008 Review – Part 1 (GPS / LCD / WiFi / General Impressions)
Recently we received the Hero Star H9008 MT6592. We decided to review this phone because of quad-band WCDMA inclusion.We’re surprised this gem hasn’t garnered more attention, but at least some of you out there can understand our excitement over a phone with quad-band WCDMA. I haven’t lived in America for over 7 years, but I still am giddy over this new phone released by Mlais and Hero / Star. This is truly a ‘day’ that will go down in China brand history. The first MTK China brand with quad-band WCDMA. It doesn’t hurt that the H9008 is well built and solid, with a crisp, bright LCD, very strong WiFi, and quick GPS. (more…)

Hero H7500B Zopo ZP820 Preview = Updated H7500+ Zopo ZP810!
The MT6582 phones are starting to pour in. Most of them are decent $150 phones. The Hero H7500+ was one of the first MT6589 phones to come on the market that was widely available. It’s the same phone as the Zopo ZP810 and they were a great buy. At today’s price, they’re still a good purchase.The new versions, the Hero H7500B and Zopo ZP820 Raiden are a downgrade unfortunately, (more…)

No rest for the wicked. Of that there’s no doubt. Did you read the first part of the comparison between the Star S5 and the Hero H7500+ / Zopo ZP810?Camera – Though the Star S5’s spec sheets generally report a higher MP count for both the front and the back cameras, we can’t trust these on paper specs anymore regarding megapixels, as many smartphones use interpolation to be able to up their mp specs. Another tick is that the Chinese sellers will just blatantly lie on the spec sheets to get sales and they often copy each others spec sheets. (more…)

Tutorial / How To Root MTK6592 MTK6582 MTK6572 MTK6589!
Note, the general process will be the same for most MTK phones, however do NOT use a scatter or recovery that isn’t made specifically for your phone. The recoveries included are for Hero H7500+/Zopo ZP800H/Zopo ZP810/Zopo ZP950H and exact clones of these phones. I’ve also written a newer post hereNOTE: We now have an updated thread on how to create TWRP custom recovery for the newer SoC China phones such as MT6735 MT6753, MT6755. This method does not require root. Please see the thread linked here. If you’ve got an older phone with MT65xx type SoC, you can continue on with this tutorial.
