Will MTK6592 China Phones Work In America and Europe?
Since writing my last preview of MT6592 THL T100 Monkey King 2 / Iron Man, the shops have changed their tune and are now including 850MHz WCDMA / UMTS in the specs of the T100. Some are now even showing 1900MHz WCDMA. The MT6592 Mlais MX69 Pro is showing quad-band WCDMA (850/900/1900/2100) on shop sites and on the Mlais official page as well. Is it too good to be true? A China MTK phone with both of the major American frequencies? (more…)

Hero H7500B Zopo ZP820 Preview = Updated H7500+ Zopo ZP810!
The MT6582 phones are starting to pour in. Most of them are decent $150 phones. The Hero H7500+ was one of the first MT6589 phones to come on the market that was widely available. It’s the same phone as the Zopo ZP810 and they were a great buy. At today’s price, they’re still a good purchase.
The new versions, the Hero H7500B and Zopo ZP820 Raiden are a downgrade unfortunately, (more…)

$130 Budget Umi X2 – The Voto V5 Youth!
Voto is a fairly new player to the game. They gained notoriety by releasing the Voto X2. If the model number sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the exact same phone as the very popular Umi X2. Not just a clone, but the same exact phone with different branding – similar to how Hero h7500+ and Zopo ZP810 released the same phone under a different brand. (more…)

O2 Super K1, K2 and K3! New MTK6592 and MTK6589T China phone brand!
We’ve seen a few brands pop out of the blue over the last couple years. Some of them stick around and develop a following, others fade away.
I’m usually not a ‘clone’ type of guy. I prefer to have a phone that has it’s own original design that can stand on its own two feet. If you’re going to have a clone though, you should purchase a clone that has a brand attached to it so you can find firmwares, get support, and find other owners of the model to discuss issues and work out problems.
