4G/LTE MT6582 Landvo L200G Review Specifications
The long awaited production units with MT6290 LTE/4g for MediaTek MT6582 and MT6592 phones are coming very soon. I have written about the MT6290 and its compatibility with MT6582 and MT6592 for several months now and its excellent to see their dawn. One of the great things about MT6290 is that manufacturers will be able to easily incorporate 4G into existing models simply by swapping the modem that the SoC relies on.
One of the first phones to receive MT6290 and be produced is the budget-friendly Landvo L200G.
Landvo L200G review SoC, CPU, GPU
The Landvo L200G is based around an MT6582 SoC. MT6582 contains an ARM Cortex-7 quad-core [email protected] and a Mali-400 MP2 GPU. This is more than enough to run Android smoothly and even enough power to get some decent 3D gaming in.
Landvo L200G review RAM/ROM storage
The Landvo L200G will have a solid 1GB of RAM. In combination with the MT6582 SoC, 1GB RAM is plenty enough to run Android smoothly.
With 4GB ROM this phone is clearly aimed at budget conscious consumers. Nothing wrong with this and it should be enough for most users. The phone will also accept external SD up to 32GB.
Landvo L200G review OS
Many of the newer China brand phones are beginning to come with Android KitKat 4.4.2, and keeping par with the field Landvo is slated to have KitKat 4.4.2 as well.
Landvo L200G review LCD
The Landvo L200G will have a 5.0″ QHD (960*540) display which gives a PPI of 220. Another budget based spec, but it is not the lowest density we have seen. Some of the cheaper 5.0″ phones are coming with displays as low as 800*480.
The other benefit besides cost savings is increased performance in regards to battery life and 3D/2D.
Landvo L200G review design
The official specs from Landvo show the dimensions as 144*72*8.9mm. One thing I am liking is that they have not gone the Samsungish route with this model.
It presents a fairly square portrait with slightly rounded corners, tops and bottoms. Good for the finger tips and palms. Overall it reminds me of the iOcean X7 in regards to looks.
Landvo L200G review frequency support
As is standard, this modem will have quad-band 2G/GSM support of 850/900/1800/1900, 3G/WCDMA support of 850/1900/2100, and support of 4G/LTE 1800/2600 but no 4G/LTE support for America.
I have been in contact with Landvo and they have confirmed these specs. It’s not all bad — Americans can enjoy full 3G support and Asia/UK/Europe can enjoy 4G support and 3G support on 2100. What is odd here is that Americans will not have any sort of 4G/LTE support, and Europe will be missing out on 900 3G.
I find it altogether a very odd decision, but there it is.
Landvo L200G review pricing
This is the fun part. As of yet, the retail price of the phone is unknown. www.gearbest.com is running a competition now. The user who guesses closest to their retail pricing will be given a free Landvo L200G phone. Enter your guesses at Chinaphonearena. The guessing ends on August 11th.
Landvo L200G review conclusion
I like the looks of the phone and being one of the first 4G/LTE MT6582 out the gate I’m very interested to see how this phone performs.
Only 4GB ROM storage could be a deal breaker for many and given that phones such as the DG550 are coming with 16GB@$160, the Landvo L200G will need to be very competitively priced to be of consideration.
Assuming the phone is of moderate-excellent build quality, the phone could be a big winner, but we will have to see what the pricing is before I give a full opinion on the specifications of the L200G. I am still shaking my head at the curious decision regarding frequency support, but as already mentioned, it’s not all bad.

Doogee is a new brand on the block. I reviewed their website a bit back, but today we’ll be doing a Doogee Dagger DG550 review of specifications and design.
