How To Share and Stream Movies / Media Files / Documents From Your PC To Your Android With ES Explorer!

Now we’ll need to download and install several apps. These are the apps I personally use. If you’ve already got apps that cover these file types and functions, or if you have no need to open certain file types, feel free to pick and choose.

ES File Explorer – The first thing we need to do is download an app that’s capable of communicating with your PC’s file system. The quite popular and excellent ES File Explorer is what I use. It’s come a long way since I first started using it, and not only is it good for navigating file systems on your Android and your networked PC, it also is a full fledged app manager and video player, and natively supports .rar and .zip decompression.

Kingsoft Office – Next we’ll need an app capable of handling DOC/DOCX/TXT/XLS/XLSX/PPT/PPTX/PDF. Leave it to China to take decades of work by Microsoft and put it out as a free app. Not only is it 100% free, it’s a phenomenal app, and unlike some other apps which are more or less just online conversion tools, Kingsoft office works offline too for editing, reading and creating.

BS Player Free – An outstanding video / movie player and streamer for Android. While ES File Explorer has it’s own built in video player, it doesn’t have the functionality of BS Player which supports subtitles and excellent onscreen controls – swipe in the middle for navigating the video, swipe up and down on the left side for brightness, and swipe up and down on the right side for volume.
